Lottery Winner Scoops $4 Million by Accident

Mistakes don’t usually turn out to be the most profitable instances in our lives, for pretty obvious reasons. However, not so for one rather lucky soul in Michigan, who managed to take home well over $4 million after accidentally buying the wrong lottery ticket.

Maybe that’s where I’ve been going wrong all this time…by buying the RIGHT lottery ticket!?!

The winner has so far decided to keep his identity private, but in an interview with the press has revealed that he never intended to buy the winning ticket in the first place. It turns out that after inserting $20 into an instant ticket vending machine at a local shopping center, he hit the wrong button and received a $20 Cash for Life ticket.

He had in fact only ever bought $10 tickets and had no intention of breaking habit that day.

Lucky for him that he did of course, as he took home the biggest prize of all and has stated that he intends to share the prize with family and friends, while living a life free of all debts and bills

He will be able to claim the $4.4 million as a single lump sum payment, or spread it out to bring in a salary of about $4000 per week for the rest of his life.

Needless to say, it doesn’t take a doctorate in advanced business immigration law to know this really does redefine beating the odds…in a rare and positive way of course!

The news comes just days after another anonymous lottery winner in the states scooped a share in the biggest jackpot of all times, only to reportedly refuse to share it with her syndicate.

Needless to say, the rest of the group populating the burger joint were slightly less pleased when she called to announce her success!

We always hear depressing news from all over the world. I mean, just look around you – when was the last time you came across something to cheer about? The Spring revolution too came at a cost, for some of which people are still reeling under. And if all seems quiet, there is always some country willing to test waters by rubbing another the wrong way and then flexing its muscles. Or there are the Enigin scam busters, who constantly highlight scams, some of which you were sure were genuine. On the best of days, you get to hear about global warming and changed weather patterns that play havoc with crops all around the world. Yeah, there is never a dull moment as far as bad news is concerned.

However, if you are preparing for a dental appointment you are so scared about, I have some good news for you. We all end up going to the dentist at some point or the other and it’s something that is not exactly looked forward to with glee. The pain that accompanies a rotten tooth and its treatment is something that we never have to undergo. The thought of those painful sittings and the jabs to clean out the nerves and then for the filling, often makes us fill dizzy. Grown men have been known to faint at the prospect of a visit to the dentist.

A recent development entails fitting a metal crown over the affected tooth and then cementing it in place. There is no anaesthetic required and the decay starved of oxygen and bacteria, slows down to the extent that it eventually stops. The crown stays in place and replaces the affected tooth. As of now, this has been successfully tried on children and their milk teeth. It is only a matter of time before it is fine tuned to be used on adults. Now that is something to cheer about. I can already see the smile on your face!

Stray Animals

Yes, the news is depressing, but we don’t need monumental gestures to offset the misery. Small acts of kindness do the trick. Perhaps it doesn’t make headline news, but to see an old lady helped across the street by a hoody, or even a door held open these days lifts ones mood and instils faith once more that there is still human spirit among us. It is not just kindness toward humanity that should be applauded. There is a middle-aged woman in the Aberdeenshire area who is collecting waifs and strays, cleaning them up, transforming their lives and then preparing them for re-housing; cataloguing them for potential owners to see.

By the number of animals she collects in a week, it seems like she would need data warehousing services to keep a record of all the animals she has dealt with and the new ones that are coming in. Once she is satisfied that the cats, dogs, rabbits and the other various species of creature are rehabilitated, she is very choosy about any prospective owners. She vets them if you like. Some of the animals in her care will never be able to be re-homed, so her extensive ground is a menagerie of activity.

This is a very busy woman. She not only runs this sanctuary, but she is also a successful professional with three children. Her brood is often roped-in to help with the zoo in the back garden. She has asked, however, that her identity remain unknown in this instance. She finds anonymity is a great tool and believes her children should not be in anyway placed in the lime light. She is known in the correct circles and plenty animals are brought to her door, without it going global.

This desire to remain anonymous warms the heart that little bit more – proving these kind actions are for no other reason than to do what is deemed best. But it must be remembered that we don’t have to be saints to do good; keep opening those doors and helping the ladies across the street and the world will be a better place.

Some strange news

One of the advantages of the internet is that you can access news from any part of the world. Most of the time it is almost live, with just a small delay of seconds lost in the streaming process. Well, that is the good news. The bad news is that most of the news that you get to see, hear and read is pretty depressing. So much so that after a point you don’t want to check the news anymore. I mean how long can we take in sad and bad things?

What proves to be the exception is the occasional news of people doing a noble act without expecting or wishing for anything in return. Not that they could do without a reward for their selfless act, but just that for them doing the right thing is much more important than any recognition in this world. Such noble behaviour, such high ethics, though rare, does exist. It could be a person from whom you would least expect such an act. It could be a clerk dealing with birth injury compensation or that tough looking taxi driver. The other day I read an article about a driver who found a bag filled with high denomination currency left behind by a careless customer. It was a fortune for an improvised man. With several children and a meagre income, he could well have used some, if not all of that money. And none would have been the wiser. In spite of his pressing needs, he chose to hand it over to the police, requesting them to track the rightful owner.

In a world where everyone seems to want better and more and money rules, such an act of honesty restores our faith in the innate goodness of mankind. I do not know if the rightful owner was tracked down, but I do know that I will never forget this noble act by a man who chose a path less trodden. It makes it easier to bear the constant flow of bad news.

How many times have you heard this statement: you can earn £3,000 in a week just by reading this book and following the helpful exercises! Well, if you’re like me, you’ve only heard it a couple of times. After all, twice is enough…after that it just really gets on your nerves.

Now, I mention this because the title of this article is exceedingly positive, don’t you think? It does, I hate to say it, sound like one of those ultra-positive slogans you see on the top of a website you’ve stumbled onto (usually in awful red or bright green font).

Yet in this case, it really is good news. How good? Very. Because today is the day you get to learn about Enigin scam – a new website that is the brainchild of a load of superheroes who can seriously save you money like never before!

Sound too good to be true? It’s not, it’s real, honest. Just go and have a look…

Just read the following example and see what I mean…

Noble acts of human kindness

Human nature is a complex thing. There are a lot of bad people walking around the streets and even though some say there is no such thing as a purely evil human being, I strongly disagree. But despite all the evil that currently rules the world, there is some good too. Here are two very powerful stories that prove that there is still hope and that the future might turn out to be brighter than you think.

The first story is about Bruno Serato. Bruno owns a relatively small Italian restaurant in Anaheim, California. Owning a restaurant means that he has access to cheap ingredients, as you know everything is bought in bulk, but this doesn’t make his act any less noble. Bruno provides a plate of delicious pasta for more than 200 poor kids living in his town. And he has been doing this for more than six years now. Even the harsh economic climate hasn’t stopped him. Currently, he is trying to get more restaurants involved in this and we are sure that more good people will join him, because there is nothing more important than the well-being of our children.

The second story comes from Jerusalem, where a small volunteer organisation helps patients in need of a special medical attention to get to hospitals in Israel, the nearest place where they can be treated properly. The hospitals in Jerusalem are lacking vital equipment and the numerous cases of clinical negligence has made the patience distrustful and forced them to seek help somewhere else. And even though Palestinians are allowed access to Israeli hospitals they are not allowed to drive in the country. The only option for them is to hire a taxi, which costs around 70 pounds. This, as you can imagine, is a price too high for most people. And some patients need to visit a hospital more than two or three times per week. Fortunately Youval Roth, the founder of the organisation, and the many volunteers provide the so-needed free transport for the patience. Most of the volunteers are ordinary people, with real professions, people who take the time to drive people in need to the hospital and then bring them back to their homes.

Children In Need 2011: A fabulous news story

Everyone looks forward to a bit of good news during the course of their day, to boost their morale to get through another tedious day at the office or to help them through testing times. Good news can come in so many ways, like a tax rebate, word of a loved one getting married or even your visa consultants uk office calling you up to let you know your working visa for abroad has been accepted. Everyone has they own unique things that make them smile and jump about in excitement.

One thing that most people do have in common though is the extent to which they find turning on the six o’clock news or opening a newspaper a mostly depressing activity. Sure we do it anyway so we have a clue about what is going on in the world, but it really does seem sometimes that only the most sombre of stories are ever reported. However, one piece of news that has hit the headlines recently, which is certain to bring a smile to everyone’s faces is the smashing success that Children In Need 2011 has been in raising money. This year Children In need raised over 26 million pounds, a whopping 8 million above what was achieved in 2010. The main telethon featured music from acts such as Susan Boyle, Matt Cardle, One Direction and even Gok Wan. Female news readers such as Sophie Raworth and Sian Willians also took to the stage in a Strictly Come dance routine complete with judges. The telethon was both an overwhelming and wonderful piece of television to watch that evening. Subsequently the generosity of our nation, especially in these dark difficult economic times has been a fabulous news story to read the last few days and a welcome change from what we are used to seeing.

With all the depressing stories in the news lately and the constant stream of TV advertisements that encourage us to sue companies if we suffer an injury, we are reminded to take out health insurance and life cover just in case we fall seriously ill or, even worse, die and our loved ones need to make a fatality accidents claim against those that are responsible.

With all this sad and depressing stuff floating around it’s no wonder many of us don’t bother watching or even reading the news anymore, but here is a snippet of something tasty that may just brighten up your day.

One of the world’s largest chocolate making companies is now looking into producing a chocolate that can actually help slow the ageing process. The special chocolate will be packed with antioxidants and/or flavonols, which will help to prevent the onset of wrinkles and give the skin a boost, so it looks more radiant. It is also said that it will help with the hydration of the skin, as well as the all important elasticity.

So by eating 20 grams of this special chocolate every day, you can reduce wrinkles and prevent further ones from appearing? Sounds almost too good to be true, doesn’t it. With more and more of the major food brands moving into the health eating arena it really was only a matter of time before someone came up with a way to make our favourite treat not only healthy, but part of our essential beauty routine too. New Once-daily HIV Pill Approved

Since the public became aware of the disease HIV/Aids in the 1980’s one of the challenges the medical community and those suffering from it has had was to develop drugs to fight the disease. People infected with the HIV virus have to take an extensive cocktail of drugs just to stay alive and these drugs are expensive. In some cases HIV infected person were taking up to four different drugs a couple of times per day. This regiment is about to change.

In August this year, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States approved a daily HIV pill developed by Gilead Sciences.

The new once-daily HIV pill, Complera, is comprised of two types of HIV drugs, and is a combination of two individual HIV drugs currently on the market: Edurant, developed by Johnson & Johnson, and Truvada, developed by Gilead.

Complera, which is estimated to cost $1,705 a month, requires a prescription and is intended exclusively for patients with no prior HIV treatment. Persons with HIV are now rejoicing somewhat as they can have more control over their lives. They are able to enjoy ball games, watch movies they saved using a R4i Card on their new Nintendo 3DS system, or even to do work.

Complera is not Gilead’s only once-daily HIV pill. The company also makes Atripla, which is a combination of Truvada and Sustiva, developed by Bristol-Myers Squibb. Altripla will lose patent protection within the next few years. The looming loss of revenue has put pressure on the company to bring new drugs to market faster.

In January 2011, the FDA rejected Gilead’s application for Complera, stating there was insufficient information in the application. In September 2010, the company received a FDA warning letter regarding potential manufacturing problems and quality control at Gilead’s San Dimas plant in California.

Along with Complera’s approval, the company also announced it had resolved the issues and concerns cited in the September FDA letter. After news of both developments was received, Gilead’s stock rose nearly three percent.
